As the name implies, the Gentlelase Pro Laser is a gentle treatment. The instant before the laser does its work, a patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) soothes the upper layers of skin with a blast of cryogen. Some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation, though this is rare and so mild that no local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required.
Most areas require 3-6 treatments. However, the number of Gentlelase Pro Laser treatments required for long-lasting benefits depends on what you’re getting removed, the part of the body being treated, and your age. When removing hair, it should be noted that Gentlelase Pro Laser treatments work by disabling the hair in its active growth phase. Since some hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments are often necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area.
Taking Care of Your Skin After Laser Hair Removal
Immediately following your laser hair removal treatment, the area may appear a bit red and swollen. Three to seven days after treatment, you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Actually, most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and are not regrowing. Do not wax, pluck, or bleach your hair for at least 4-6 weeks following a treatment! Otherwise, you’ll be able to return to all normal activities right away, though we recommend liberal application of sunscreen on treated areas.
