The patient is a 14-year-old female that came to Dr. Reedy because she was bothered by the appearance of her ears. She felt they protruded too much and always hid them with her long hair. Dr. Reedy was able to address the ear prominence by performing a bilateral otoplasty which set the ears back significantly. The patient and her mother were quite pleased with the result and the patient no longer felt the need to hide her ears behind her hair. She is now able to wear her hair back without any of the self consciousness she felt prior to the surgery.
